Brenda Wright

Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick

Brenda Wright has worked in many facets of adult learning throughout her career as an administrator and educator, which includes ten years in the field of adult literacy.  She is currently a Candidate in the Master of Adult Education Program at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.  Her graduate studies are focused on grief, transformative learning, and individuation. Brenda owns her own small business, Seven Paths Educational Consulting, where she continues her work as a field researcher and adult educator.

Joani Tannenbaum

Quebec

Joani has been involved with adult literacy since 1995.  She started off as a volunteer tutor and board member for a community volunteer-based agency, then worked as coordinator of the agency for one year. She is currently the Provincial Coordinator for Literacy Volunteers of Quebec, a coalition of Anglophone volunteer-based community literacy agencies across Quebec.

Paula Davies

Paula Davies has worked in the adult literacy field in British Columbia for over twenty-five years.  She has co-coordinated a college based volunteer tutor program and is currently instructing English in a classroom-based program.  She has also participated in various practitioner research projects including Dancing in the Dark and See Me: Use of Personal Narrative in the Classroom.

Katrina Grieve

With over sixteen years in adult education, Katrina Grieve has worked as a coordinator in a community-based literacy program in Toronto, and as a researcher and project consultant.  Her recent areas of focus include research on self-awareness and self-direction in learning, and supporting research-in-practice.  She has long been interested in accountability issues and has written about them in Measures of Success (Campbell, 2007).
